Sales & Customer Account Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Customer Account Manager. The Customer Account Manager develops and maintains strong relationships with our customers through the entire product cycle. The responsibilities include customer communications, responses to incoming requests and queries, setting and updating delivery schedules, documentation exchanges, ensuring RMAs are processed, and similar. You will set and exceed customer expectations.   

Act as liaison to internal teams, such as engineering, production, planning, and accounting. This role will include some project management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate as the primary point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts. This may include general inquiries, RFQs, schedule updates, technical questions and concerns, and any other customer communication.
  • Work independently to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Delight customers with fast response time.
  • Act as liaison between our customers and internal teams (production, engineering, quality, accounting, etc).
  • Process new customer orders in ERP system.
  • Works with manufacturing planner to set realistic lead times, and update customers as required.
  • Interfaces at all levels of the organization.
  • Travels to visit key customers. Expected travel time is 10%.

Depending on experience, this role may include:

  • Oversee customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements.
  • Perform the quoting process.
  • Lead business development initiatives, including industry events, conferences, workshops, and more.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Great team player with strong inter-personal skills. We’re looking for someone who fits our team and will delight our customers.
  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, or Junior Account Manager.
  • BA/BS degree in relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in aerospace or UAV industry strongly preferred.
  • Basic technical understanding of manufacturing processes, technical specs, drawings, and engineering issues.
  • Understanding of aerospace requirements and processes, such as rev control, quality processes, and first article inspections.
  • One year of MRP system experience, such as SAP B1, strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
  • The ability to listen and work respectfully within a team.
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-managed, an effective team player and possess excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • Eligible candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or otherwise eligible U.S. person.
