Quality Inspector

General Description / Job Purpose:

Seeking a quality inspector to lead inspection efforts for our aerospace composite manufacturing.

You will be the primary quality inspector. This includes operating our CMM equipment, performing first article inspections, interpreting GD&T and technical specs, completing quality documentation, and more. We currently have two quality inspectors.

Many future growth possibilities exist, such as customer and vendor quality point of contact, root cause analysis, training of other inspectors, metrology equipment improvements, and growing our existing quality system as we continue to move towards AS9100 certification. This will be a chance to truly shape and grow the quality system.


  • Performs quality inspections using a variety of metrology equipment.
  • Programs and operates CMM equipment (currently Romer Arm) using Verisurf software. New CMM equipment expected to come onboard in 2018.
  • Performs AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIRs).
  • Improves and completes all quality documentation, including part travelers, non-conformance reports, control plans, in-process inspection, and similar.
  • Assists the team to establish, implement, and maintain quality management documentation and systems.
  • Assures effective and efficient quality planning and inspection/testing requirements and methods.
  • Lead for metrology equipment, including training, improvements, and calibration systems.
  • Supports training and cross-training of quality personnel for current roles and development of future roles.


  • Great team player with good inter-personal skills and work ethics. We’re a strong team and are looking for a mutual fit.
  • 2+ years of quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment required. Aerospace or UAV industry strongly preferred.
  • 1+ years of CMM inspection experience required.
  • Understanding of GD&T, drawings, technical specs, and similar.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar (ISO or Nadcap) preferred.
  • BS degree in relevant field preferred, but not required.
  • Composite experience strongly preferred.
  • SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
  • The ability to listen and work respectfully within a team.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-managed, an effective team player and possess excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • MRP experience preferred. We use SAP B1.
  • Eligible candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or otherwise eligible U.S. person.
