General Description / Job Purpose:

Seeking a Document Control Specialist to update, maintain, and improve engineering and production documents at Decavo.

You will be the primary person responsible for documentation and document control at Decavo. In this role, you will maintain the flow of documentation for engineering and production. You will work closely with several key players internally, and assist with many processes to generate and maintain controlled documents. This is an opportunity to have insight into many technical aspects of aerospace manufacturing, and see the entire process front to back.

Future work may also include SolidWorks drafting, with possibilities for training.

Duties/Functions/Accountabilities:

  • Assist with documentation for engineering releases to production:
    • Use our ERP to issue new part numbers in close collaboration with engineering and production.
    • Generate and maintain bill of materials (BOMs).
    • Manage drawing releases.
    • Maintain revision control database for new parts.
    • Assist with traveler document generation.
  • Assist with documentation for engineering change orders (ECOs):
    • Complete documentation and process flow of ECOs.
    • Revision control during ECOs.
    • Archiving inactive drawings and records.
  • Assist with quality documentation:
    • Scan completed production travelers, and maintain electronic copies.
    • Fill out documentation for non-conformance, RMAs, NCMRs, and SREAs.
    • Generate quality documentation in close collaboration with engineering and production.

Qualifications:

  • Great team player with good inter-personal skills and work ethics. We’re a strong team and are looking for a mutual fit.
  • Strong understanding of document control, revision control, manufacturing documentation flow, or similar.
  • Possess effective planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and recall.
  • Technically oriented, with strong desire to learn basic manufacturing processes and flow, in order to generate and maintain supporting documentation.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • MRP / ERP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Aerospace or UAV industry preferred.
  • Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
  • The ability to listen and work respectfully within a team.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-managed, an effective team player and possess excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Eligible candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or otherwise eligible U.S. person.
